Alert: Old Navy's Legendary $1 Flip-Flop Sale Is No Longer Online

Old Navy's annual $1 flip-flop sale is the stuff of retail legend: For one day—and one day only—the brand cuts the price on its classic, solid-colored rubber sandals, which normally retail for $3.94, to a single George Washington. The discount might not seem that significant, but it's clearly of great importance to Old Navy's most loyal customers, who start asking about the date of the sale as early as February, Refinery29 reported in 2016.

The brand announced that the 2018 event will take place on Saturday, June 23, though with one noteworthy amendment: Unlike last year's sale, the $1 flip-flops will not be available online.

Last year Old Navy truly made the task of rounding out your summer footwearthat much easier (and lazier) by extending its promotion to its website. Sadly, the convenience of not having to fight over the last pair of lilac or magenta flip-flops is no more. Still, the deal in-stores is as good as ever: Customers can grab up to 10 pairs of solid flip-flops for $1 (pairs with patterns are $2). You'll need to check local store hours for sale start times, according to a representative for the brand.

If you have any lingering doubts about the hype surrounding the $1 sandals (and the drive to your nearest Old Navy), all you need to do is revisit some of the social reactions from last year's promotion, which Footwear News dutifully compiled, to shake them off. (At one point, it was the second most successful promotion Old Navy ran each year, after Black Friday, the brand's then global chief marketing officer told Forbes back in 2014.)

With the return to hosting the sale in stores only, Old Navy also christened the event with a new name: the One Dolla Holla Sale. You can get pumped for the event by visiting last year's feel-good ad spots—one in which flip-flops are delivered by drones to a beach, and another where Miles Brown of Black-ish and viral dance sensation Tavaris Jones bust some moves in their new sandals. (That second one really is pretty cute.)
